The Yankees farm system had a decent day going 3-3. Here is a look at the day’s action from last night in today’s Minor League Roundup!

TRIPLE-A

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders: Railriders (37-42) split doubleheader with Syracuse Chiefs (49-31) 7-4 and 4-3

The Railriders sent Alfredo Aceves to the mound against Manny Delcarmen. Aceves threw four scoreless innings, before being touched up for three straight hits, including a run-scoring single by Emmanuel Burris. Reliever Danny Burawa came in and shut the door on the Chiefs. Catcher John Ryan Murphy and infielder Zoilo Almonte scored on a double to make the game 7-4 and take the win.

The night game of the double header was a little closer, even though the RailRiders got a bases-clearing double by Austin Romine to give them the lead 3-0,  the RailRiders were not able to hold the Chiefs, who scored four unanswered runs in the middle innings. Diego Moreno took the loss on the day. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre will conclude the series Friday at 7:05 pm. The pitching matchup will be Shane Greene (4-2 5.74 ERA) vs. James Simmons (1-1 5.54 ERA)

Trenton Thunder (37-43) Defeat the Erie Seawolves  (32-44) 10-5

The Trenton Thunder had an offensive explosion, with 13 hits and 10 runs on Thursday. Three Thunder batters had multi-hit games including Peter O’Brien and Gary Sanchez. The Thunder also had a three-hit night from Rob Segedin. It was the Thunder’s first 10-run game since May 29th. The series continues Friday night with the pitching match-up being Bryan Mitchell (1-5  5.44 ERA) vs. Wilson Palacios (4-4 5.76 ERA). Game time is 7:05 pm.

The Tampa Yankees (37-42) lose to Clearwater Threshers  (21-55) 4-3

Jake Cave stood out in yesterday’s 4-3 loss to the Threshers, picking up 3 hits and scoring 2 runs in the loss. Dante Bichette, Jr. also looked good, driving in 2 runs on 2 hits. Tampa will open a series against the Dunedin Blue Jays tonight at 7:00 pm. The pitchers will be Miguel Sulbaran (1-1 3.08 ERA) vs. Ben White (3-4 5.01 ERA)

The Charleston RiverDogs (36-42) shutout the Savanah Sand Gnats  (48-26) 9-0

Miguel Andujar drove in six runs, and also scored two runs, while Ian Clarkin and Eric Ruth combined for a two-hit shutout during a 9-0 Charleston RiverDogs’ win over the Savannah Sand Gnats.  Clarkin recieved the victory in his second career quality start. Brady Lail (7-3 3.64 ERA) will be taking the mound against Kannapolis whose pitcher is TBA.

Staten Island Yankees (8-6) lose to the Hudson Valley Renegades (9-5) 14-3

Chris Breen was about the only bright spot from the game as he went 2-for-4, and improved his batting average to 333. Staten Island will face the Brooklyn Cyclones tonight at 7:00 pm. Dillon McNamara will get the start for Staten Island.
