It’s always nice when a strength becomes even stronger. The Yankees bullpen is one of the keys to the club and probably the strongest part of the club right now and it just got a little stronger. Shawn Kelley was activated from the 15-Day DL and Matt Daley was optioned to AAA Scranton to make room for him.

Kelley strained  his lumbar spine in his back and was placed on the DL May 13, retroactive to May 7. Kelley will help lengthen the setup relief corps with Dellin Betances and Adam Warren in front of David Robertson. Kelley was 1-2 with a 3.52 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and struck out 16 in 15.1 innings so far this year.

The Yankees weren’t done there yet in the shuffle of the bullpen. The Yankees re-acquired David Huff from the San Francisco Giants for cash. The Yankees sent Huff to the Giants for cash back on January 24th so I guess they just called tradebacks. Huff is 1-0 with a 6.30 ERA. He’s given up 27 hits in 20 innings, given up 15 runs and struck out 11.  Huff for the Yankees last year went 3-1 with a 4.67 ERA and a .98 WHIP

So who goes for Huff? Wade LeBlanc we hardly knew ya. LeBlanc was designated for assignment. He only pitched one inning in his Yankee career giving up a two runs.
