The New York Yankees have activated outfielder Carlos Beltran from the 15-day disabled list. To make room for Beltran, the team sent infielder Scott Sizemore back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Beltran, who has been dealing with a bone spur in his elbow, will bat fifth out of the designated hitter’s spot in today’s series finale against the Oakland Athletics today at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees are attempting to avoid a 3-game sweep at the hands of the A’s, after having had the opportunity to be looking for a sweep themselves before back-to-back implosions by the bullpen.
#Yankees reinstate OF Carlos Beltran from 15-day DL, DFA/option INF Scott Sizemore to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
