Sunday was a tough day for the Baby Bombers. Of the for games played, only Charleston came away with a win. This is how the Minor League affiliates fared.

TRIPLE A

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (24-24) lose to Rochester Red Wings (26-22) 6-2

Once again, the offense was non-existent for the RailRiders. The team had just four hits and Francisco Garcia had the only RBI. Joel De La Cruz went five innings, allowing four runs (3 earned), while striking out a pair. The RailRiders send Shane Greene to the mound on Monday.

DOUBLE A

Trenton Thunder (27-23) lose to Richmond Flying Squirrels (24-23) 9-1

Trenton’s offense was equally inept on Sunday, as they too, had just four hits. Peter O’Brien picked two hits and drove in the only run. Bryan Mitchell got the start, but lasted just three innings, and giving up four runs. Caleb Cotham makes the start and looks to get back on track for Trenton on Monday.

SINGLE A

Tampa Yankees (26-24) lose to Brevard County Manatees (25-24) 7-5

Unlike SWB and Trenton, the Yankees’ had a nice day at the dish, collecting twelve hits. Dante Bichette, Jr ht his sixth homer and Jake Cave picked up two hits to raise his average to .322. It was the pitching that let Tampa down on Sunday. Rafael De Paula allowed seven runs (6 earned) in just two innings. The Yankees have an off day Monday.

Charleston RiverDogs (25-23) defeat Hickory Crawdads (23-25) 17-10

The Riverdogs put on an offensive show Sunday, and Mike Ford was the headliner. Ford connected for four home runs and drove in five. Aaron Judge also smacked a homer and raised his average to .327. Luis Severino started and could only make it 3.1 innings, allowing seven earned runs on eight hits. Ian Clarkin will take the mound for Charleston Monday.
