The Yankees’ Minor league affiliates played four games on Mother’s Day, with Tampa having an off-day. Trenton resumed their rain-delayed game from Saturday The Baby Bombers went 3-1. Here’s your Minor League Roundup!

TRIPLE-A

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (21-17) defeat Durham Bulls (19-16) 2-1.

Zealous Wheeler had the game winning RBI in the ninth inning for the RailRiders and Zoilo Almonte started the scoring with a solo homer in the second. Eric Ruth was very good for SWB, going five innings and striking out three. The only run he gave up came on a solo home run in the fifth. The RailRiders will send Chase Whitley to the mound Monday against Durham’s Enny Romero.

Trenton Thunder (23-14) split the double-header with Reading Fightin Phils (16-17)

Game One: Thunder 3 Fightin Phils 4

The game resumed after being suspended during the thirteenth inning Saturday. Pat Venditte was quick to give up two hits and a run in the fourteenth, taking the loss. Peter O’Brien hit his first home run with Trenton on Saturday. He had ten with Tampa before his promotion.

Game Two: Thunder 15 Fightin Phils 0

The Thunder clobbered Reading in the second game, scoring fifteen runs, including an eight-run fourth. O’Brien was again the offensive star, homering twice, and raising his total this season to thirteen. Ben Gamel also homered and drove in five. Matt Tracy started for Trenton and went seven innings, scattered six hits and struck out a pair. Trenton has a day off Monday.

Charleston RiverDogs (19-16) defeat Savannah Sand Gnats (24-10) 3-1

Mikeson Oliberto had a double and drove in two runs to pace the RiverDogs. Brady Lail struck out nine over six innings and picked up his fifth win. Charleston will send Jaron Long to the hill Monday to face off against Savannah’s Kevin McGowan.
