Quick question. Who leads the Yankees in RBI’s? Carlos Beltran? Nope. Mark Teixeira? No. Brian Roberts? Stop it. The correct answer is the 18 RBI from never nervous Yangervis Solarte. Solarte added three to his total tonight as the Yankees beat the Brewers 5-3.

Yovani Gallardo and Masahiro Tanaka matched zeroes for the first three innings. The Yanks then broke through in the fourth.  Beltran led off with a walk and Brian McCann singled. Solarte followed with his second homer of the year. Brett Gardner singled and Brian Roberts drove him home to make it 4-0.

The Brewers crept closer in the sixth inning. Carlos Gomez and Scooter Gennett hit back to back doubles. Johnathan Lucroy singled to make it 4-2. Tanaka would induce a double play and then another out to get out of it.

The Yankees tacked on a run in the eighth. Beltran doubled and Ichiro Suzuki ran for him and stole third. Ichiro would score on Teixeira’s groundout.

The Brewers got to David Robertson in the ninth when Mark Reynolds hit his eighth homer of the year, but Robertson struck out Khris Davis and Jean Segura to end the game.

CC Sabathia will take on Kyle Lohse tomorrow night at 7:10 ET.
