Yankees To Re-sign Minor League Hurler

Acoording to Chad Jennings of LoHud Yankees, Yankees VP of Baseball Operations, Mark Newman said the Yankees expect to re-sign LHP Nik Turley as per Michael Axisa of River Ave Blues. Turley was released in April to make room for Chris Leroux.

Michael Axisa ranked Turley, as the Yankees’ 23rd best minor league prospect prior to this season. Despite not pitching yet this season due to an arm injury, the 24-year-old has shown some promise. A season ago at Double-A, he went 11-8 with a 3.88 ERA in 26 starts. He struck out 137 batter in 139 innings.

Turley has been rehabbing in Tampa and figures to factor into the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre rotation when healthy.
