Well, the first month of the 2014 season is in the books. (Can you believe it?) If you’re a fan of the central time zone you’re in luck because the Yankees are going  to be traveling there quite a bit in May. If you like games in the division, you’ll be disappointed. Let’s take a look at the May schedule for the Yanks.

Games In Division: 3

Games vs AL Central: 6

Games vs AL West: 4

Home Games: 11

Road Games: 17

Interleague Games: 15

The lone games in the division come this coming weekend against the Rays. The Yankees finish up against the Angels next week. After next Wednesday, they play the National League for 12 straight games.

The annual Subway Series is a week from Monday (why those games are during the week instead of the weekend I really don’t understand). They will be the envy of every player by getting to spend a full week in Chicago by playing the Cubs twice and the White Sox for four from the 20-25.

The Yankees will face tough NL central opponents in the Brewers, Cardinals and Pirates. The Cards and Pirates faced each other in the playoffs last year and the Brewers are hotter than a celebrity trying to buy the Clippers.

They finish the month with a weekend set against the Twins.

That’s a look at the Yankees 2014 May schedule.
