The Future Bronx Bombers were light in action last night, going 1-1 across all the minor league teams. Two games were rained out, accounting for only two being played.

Triple-A

Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (7-7) lost to the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (6-9) 5-2

The RailRiders fell to the Iron Pigs 5-2 last night, and it was based on missing opportunities. The RailRiders were 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left 12 men on base. The RailRiders did manage to scatter 10 hits in the contest, led by third baseman Adonis Garcia. Garcia went 4-for-5 and is now hitting .278 on the season.

Today The RailRiders look to avenge last night’s loss with Bruce Billings on the mound. Billings is 2-1 with a 2.81 ERA on the season.

Double-A

Trenton Thunder (9-6) defeated the Erie SeaWolves (5-8) 5-3

The Thunder overcame three errors in the game to continue their winning streak Friday. Trenton pitching held Erie to just two hits in the game. Starter Matt Tracey threw five innings, striking out six while giving up one run. Offensively, the Thunder were led by both second baseman Robert Refsnyder and third baseman Dan Fiorito, who each had three hits in the contest.

Today the Thunder look to make it 4 in a row as birthday boy Brian Mitchell takes the ball against Erie. He has had a rough start to the season, going 1-2 with a 5.14 ERA, but he does have 20 strikeouts in 16 innings. The team is on a roll and today is the perfect day to work on that earned run average.

Class-A

Both the Tampa Yankees and the Charleston RiverDogs’ games were rained out yesterday. Both teams will play a double header today.
