Rays Rally Hand Yankees Loss

The Yankees were the road team at Charlotte Sports Park located in Port Charlotte, Florida on Wednesday afternoon as they battled their divisional foe the Tampa Bay Rays. New York jumped out to a 4-1 lead through four innings. However, the Bronx Bombers unraveled in the 5th inning, giving up 4 runs including three Tampa Bay home runs from Ben Zobrist, Desmond Jennings, and Matt Joyce.

The loss was received by Yankees reliever Robert Coello, and the win was tallied to Rays pitcher Erik Bedard. Adam Warren started the game for New York as he is competing for the 5th spot in the starting rotation. He allowed one run on four hits in 2 1/3 innings.

On a good note for Yankees fans, Ichiro Suzuki got the start in center field, and Eduardo Nunez had a nice outing at second base as manager Joe Girardi continues to mix and match his infield.
