I can already taste the turkey! First of all, Happy Hanukkah to all of our readers who celebrate the holiday. Let’s take a look at Thanksgiving eve news and notes for the New York Yankees.

Ryan Signin’: The new deal with Brendan Ryan is official. It’s two years for $5 million, with a mutual option for a third year and incentives that could make the deal reach $10 million. This deal could signal an end for Eduardo Nunez in a Yankee uniform, but that situation is fluid.

Cano round two: The Yankees met with Robinson Cano and his agents again today and Cano apparently has decreased his asking price but not that much. They will talk again after the holiday. Meanwhile..

Free Agency: The Yankees are in talks with Omar Infante as well, and even if Cano signs, Infante could be a super-utility type who plays all over and starts. Infante has played second, third, shortstop and outfield during his major league career. Ex-Yankee Luis Cruz has signed with the Chibba Lotte Marines in Japan. Cruz hit .182 with five RBI in 16 games with the Yankees last year after being acquired from the Dodgers. He, like so many other Yankees, got injured and was then taken off the 40-man roster.

Linkage: Some food for thought on this night and a couple of articles for you to read as you ignore your family:
