YGY Series Preview Show: Yankees-White Sox (8/5-8/7)

The season has been a nightmare. Those were the words echoed through the Yankees’ clubhouse on Sunday after the New York Yankees (57-53) lost two out of three to the San Diego Padres. After poor pitching efforts from CC Sabathia and Phil Hughes, the Yankees now stand 4.5 games out of a Wild Card spot with the amount of games continuing to fade away. Now, it looks like that Derek Jeter will miss more games as he suffered another grade one strain of his calf. But, never fear, A-Rod is here. That’s right, from all accounts, Alex Rodriguez will be in the lineup tonight as he is expected to  appeal his lengthy suspension from Major League Baseball. The level of circus that will be at US Cellular Field Monday night will outweigh the ugliness that this series could have in terms of the lack of runs that could be scored.

The Yankees will take on the Chicago White Sox (40-69) this week. Chicago has lost ten straight and is 28th in the MLB in runs scored. The White Sox were in the news over the past week by making the trade of Jake Peavy in exchange for outfielder Avisail Garcia from the Detroit Tigers in that three team deal. For Chicago, they do pitch Chris Sale on Tuesday in this series. On this edition of the Yanks Go Yard Show, presented by BaldVinny.com, I discuss A-Rod, Jeter, and talk about the White Sox with Matt Adams from SouthsideShowdown.com in regards to whether or not players like Alex Rios, Adam Dunn, and others can still be moved by the August 31st waiver trade deadline and how he has viewed the job Robin Ventura has done as White Sox’ manager.
