Capital Gains: The Yankees played their first game in a non minor league stadium today winning 4-2. Kevin Youkilis hit his sixth homer of the spring. Youkilis had 13 hits this spring and only one wasn’t for extra bases. The Yankees will certainly need that kind of pop. Andy Pettitte went six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits.

Roster Building: Shawn Kelley and Cody Eppley got the last two spots on the roster in the bullpen. Vidal Nuno was sent down and David Aardsma was designated for assignment. Lyle Overbay and Jayson Nix officially made the team.

Tex Works: Mark Teixeira took grounders and took batting practice one handed. He goes to the doctor next week to see if he can remove his cast. If he can, then he can do strengthening exercises on his wrist beginning next week.

Sweet Lou: The Yankees announced yesterday that Lou Piniella will throw out the first ball on Monday. Piniella will be broadcasting certain games on the YES Network this year.

West Point: The Yankees conclude the exhibition schedule in West Point by taking on the US Military Academy. The game is at 2:05 and on YES. Adam Warren will get the start.
