Getting the W: The Yankees showed some offensive punch yesterday in their 9-7 win over the Twins. Robinson Cano had a two run double. Ronnier Mustelier had three hits and two RBI,and Eduardo Nunez chipped in two of his own. Ivan Nova gave up five runs in 5.1 innings of work. His spot could be in question because of our next note.

Welcome Back: The Yankees signed Chien Ming-Wang to a minor-league deal. He will start in AAA, but there is a chance he could take a spot and the team could use Nova or David Phelps as trade bait for an additional bat.

Injury Woes: Clay Rapada will start the year on the DL and it’s possible Vidal Nuno could take his spot. Derek Jeter is the DH in the AAA game today and will lead off every single inning. Brennan Boesch has some soreness in his rib cage and will be out a couple of days.

Lineup: Here’s the Yankee lineup today as they take on the Tigers in Lakeland at 1:05. No broadcast for it.
