We are halfway through the week! Let’s take a look at some news and notes from New York Yankees spring training.

Big L: The Yankees fell to 9-15 this spring with a 4-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. Kyle Kendrick and company held the Yankees to just two hits. Ichiro Suzuki drove in Brett Gardner, who had the other Yankee hit. Adam Warren went 3.2 innings giving up two runs on seven hits. There is a bigger story from this game though.
Ankle: Derek Jeter and his ankle are the bigger issue from yesterday. Jeter traveled with the team to play but experienced some ankle soreness while taking BP. He had an x-ray and an MRI and it showed mild inflammation in that surgically repaired ankle. He’s day-to-day. Eduardo Nunez may be that much more important to this team this year. Just saying.
Stub Hub: As you may or may not know, even though there are listings for it, you cannot buy secondary market Yankee tickets off Stubhub anymore. The Yankees, along with the Angels and the Cubs now have a deal with Ticketmaster. The Yankees are taking their anti-Stubhub stance even further. The organization got a TRO after filing a law suit to prevent the company from operating a storefront near the stadium.
WBC: Robinson Cano was named MVP of the WBC as the Dominican Republic went undefeated and beat Puerto Rico 3-0 for the Championship last night. Cano will be back with the Yankees today.
Lineup: Here’s the lineup for today’s game against the Boston Red Sox. It’s at 1:05 on ESPN2 and YES.
