OK, maybe that’s a bit extreme. But after going 0-for-5 in Saturday’s “loss,” Nick Swisher is now a career-worst 0 for his last 24 (0-for-23 on this road trip) with three walks to nine strikeouts and hasn’t had a hit since last Sunday.
However, he did drive in a run on a force out in the ninth. You know things aren’t going well for you when a run-scoring force out is a silver lining.
The Yanks are now tied with the Orioles atop the division at 78-61, with the loser Rays two games back.
Hopefully this post will, as usual, serve as a reverse jinx and Swisher will go 4-for-4 on Sunday.
