Nick Swisher Is the Anti-DiMaggio

OK, maybe that’s a bit extreme. But after going 0-for-5 in Saturday’s “loss,” Nick Swisher is now a career-worst 0 for his last 24 (0-for-23 on this road trip) with three walks to nine strikeouts and hasn’t had a hit since last Sunday.

However, he did drive in a run on a force out in the ninth. You know things aren’t going well for you when a run-scoring force out is a silver lining.

The Yanks are now tied with the Orioles atop the division at 78-61, with the loser Rays two games back.

Hopefully this post will, as usual, serve as a reverse jinx and Swisher will go 4-for-4 on Sunday.

    Swisher is a career .256 hitter…so he’s not in a slump…he is not a clutch player in October..Please don’t resign this guy.

Fair point, he’s never been known for his average but he does get on base a lot. He even led the team in OBP last season.
