@arth65456 Great point about Garza in the ALCS! I also worry about how Pettitte will recover from his injury and think Garza gives us a real shot at a ring this year.

@yankeeboy26 I agree that the Cubs are years away from contending and for that reason they will be looking for young prospects like Betances. I also agree that Hughes to the Cubs may not be the best fit.That is why I suggested they trade him to another team, like the Dodgers, where he will have greater trade value.

I agree it is bad timing considering how Betances has pitched this year. In that case they may need to increase there offer with more mid-level prospects. If the Yankees can pull a trade off without including Sanchez or Banuelos then I would seriously consider most offers. It’s not easy to find a proven starter in the AL East.

CJ, I’m not sure Betances and a mid-level prospect get it done for Garza (whom I’m indifferent on anyway). Betances, was just sent down and his status with the organization is now decreased. He even might be a mid-level talent now…I feel like the Cubs will ask a lot for Garza because the pitching market is so bleak, and why wouldn’t they? Garza is still cost-controlled until after 2013, relatively young, and provides good production. It’ll take a lot to get Garza, IMO

Thanks for the heads up on the typos. Trust me when I tell you that the articles are proofed by the authors and then by me. Sometimes we miss a typo or two. I see them in newspapers, magazines and other media outlets all the time. While, I’m not condoning them being left in the material, I don’t think they “erode credibility”. We’ll continue to do our best to deliver sound commentary. This piece was well thought out and backed by plenty of research with which the author formulated an opinion.

I don’t normally read about baseball but this article is the epitome of what baseball knowledge should be. I can’t wait to hear what this guy has got next.
