I agree, I do not expect the Yankees to stand pat at the trade deadline this year, mostly because I don’t they will be in a position to do so. It is going to be an interesting trade deadline this year. With the addition of the second wild card team, there may be more teams “in it” and there could be less sellers. We’ll see.

I do think the Yankees end up going outside the organization for pitching at the deadline. I don’t think Hughes ends up finishing the season in the rotation. I like Phelps, but is he enough of an upgrade? Same goes for DJ Mitchell. Problem is, there doesn’t seem to be any pitching out there. However, that can/will change in July as more teams become sellers.
