Captain Fantastic: Jeter Enjoys Strong Start

The Yankees may be mediocre at 6-6 after 12 games, but don’t blame it on Captain Fantastic.
After signs of fading play and power at the plate in recent years superstar shortstop Derek Jeter is playing like one again to start this season. “Jetes” is batting .389 with 4 homers and 10 RBI. In his last three games alone, Jeter is 6-for-13 with 2 homers and 4RBI.
Not bad for a 17-year veteran who eclipsed the 3,000 hit mark last season but did show signs of a fade. He had just 6 homers and career lows in doubles and runs scored, with 24 and 84, respectively. Still productive? Sure. Great numbers for DJ though? Hardly.
This start … is much more like it for one of the all-time greats.
