Yankees at Orioles (4/9-4/11) Podcast Preview!

Well, it was not the most eventful week for supporters of the New York Yankees. The Tampa Bay Rays managed to outhit, outpitch, and even outmanage the Bronx Bombers. Tampa got off to hot starts early in each of the three games and with the exception of a blip in the opener, never let it go. Now, the Yankees head up north to Baltimore to take on the Orioles. The O’s are off to another great start after sweeping their opening series for the second straight year. Manager Buck Showalter always has a way of making these series with the top teams in the AL East not as easy as they seem.

For the Yankees, it is not time to panic because the last time they started 0-3, they won the World Series back in 1998. If they go 0-6, then there could be some panic. For now, the Yankees head into an environment they should have no problem in since they have been 13-5 against Baltimore each of the last three seasons.  My thanks to Domenic A. Vadala from Birdswatcher.com who helped me with some of the key Orioles’ points in this series to watch for.

Here are some of the points on this week’s podcast:

  • Breakdown of what went wrong in Tampa
  • Should there be panic in Yankeeland
  • Orioles’ pitching matchups
  • My confidence in Ivan Nova
  • Matusz’ velocity changes
  • Freddy’s veteran reliance early!
  • A new Japanese pitcher not named Darvish
  • CC’s dominance of Baltimore
  • A new Arrieta ace in Maryland?
  • Thank you to Robert Andino.
