Yanks Go Yard Goes Soothsaying
With the season opening tonight* — although technically not until Friday for Yankee fans — we here at Yanks Go Yard decided to put together our predictions for the season. Feel free to leave your own predictions and/or tell us how dumb we are in the comments section.
*Yes, I know the M’s and A’s played a couple of games last week, but they don’t count seeing as how they were not televised live. Off-the-topic rant: Having Opening Day overseas is the dumbest thing MLB ever did; the fans have to wake up early to watch the games and, as I bitched about before, they weren’t even on TV (live). Stupid.
Without further ado, here is how the 2012 MLB season will play out:
Andrew Corselli’s Picks:
AL East: Yanks
AL Central: Tigers
AL West: Angels
AL Wild Cards: Rays, Rangers
NL East: Bravos
NL Central: Reds
NL West: Fake G-Men
NL Wild Cards: Phils, Marlins (It was tough leaving the Nats off the WC list. I think they make a big run this season. Now that I’ve put that in writing they will finish 30 games under .500)
ALCS: Yanks over Tigers
AL MVP: Albert Pujols
AL Cy Young: Ervin Santana (Mark my words: Phil Hughes will get at least one vote for the Cy Young this year. I’m not saying he’s going to win, or even that he’s going to deserve it, but he will get at least one vote. I’m taking bets if you think I’m full of sh*t)
AL Rookie of the Year: Jesus Montero
NLCS: Fake G-Men over Bravos
NL MVP: Ike Davis
NL CY: Cole Hamels
NL ROY: Bryce Harper
WS: Yanks over Fake G-Men
WS MVP: Swish Dog
