Moose, Grandy, and Joba: Thursday Yankees Links

  • Our old friend Mike Mussina has been elected to the Orioles Hall of Fame. Great to hear! I still remember watching Moose’s near-perfect game in 2001 when that jerk Carl Everett broke it up with two outs in the 9th inning. Not that I’m bitter or anything.
  • I’ll be glad when Opening Day is finally here if for no other reason than the Yankees will (theoretically) have their rotation all worked out. Meanwhile, the speculation continues with Joe Girardi adding to the firestorm with statements like “There’s no gaurantee that the sixth starter goes to the bullpen.”
  • Curtis Granderson is feeling good after some elbow issues sidelined him earlier this week, and says he hopes to be back in center field for tonight’s game.
  • And finally, I normally don’t link to posts from The Onion, but they were so spot on with the way they mocked some Yankees fans reactions to the Joba Chamberlain injury that I couldn’t help myself with this one.
