  • David Waldstein breaks down how the Yankees might go about whittling down the rotation to five pitchers.
  • One way might be to trade Freddy Garcia. Reports indicate that the Yankees made an offer to the Marlins.
  • Good news on the Joba front as he was released from the hospital yesterday. He’ll be in a cast for six weeks, but so far he has avoided infection in the foot and x-rays show that there are no lingering bone fragments.
  • The Yankees made another round of roster cuts this weekend: OF Colin Curtis, RHP Manny Delcarmen, OF Cole Garner, C Jose Gil, and RHP Kevin Whelan. SS Ramiro Pena was also optioned to Triple A.
  • Alex Rodriguez took a fastball to the ribs in Sunday’s game, but after being checked it team trainers determined that he is just fine.
