D-Rob Will “Easily Be Ready” For Opening Day…Barring Any Setbacks

According to a report in the Post, David Robertson will most likely be ready for Opening Day. D-Rob, who suffered a bone bruise in his right foot after falling down some stairs while moving empty boxes in his house last week, worked out on an elliptical machine yesterday and may even run on a treadmill today. He also played catch yesterday and said he hasn’t felt any pain in the foot since getting rid of a walking boot on Monday.

"I will easily be ready for Opening Day. As long as I have no setbacks. It feels much better, I don’t have the soreness in the bottom of the foot walking around."

This is, of course, great news. D-Rob is arguably the best reliever the Yanks have (not named Mariano Rivera). The Yanks need him healthy, and this injury is like something that would happen to the Mets.

As optimistic as Dave sounded in the article, the Yanks are not out of the water yet. And Girardi knows this:

"Probably these next three or four days out of the boot are pretty important. How his foot responds as we increase activity. If all goes well I would think we would have him Opening Day. If it doesn’t, then you have to start to wonder."

Get well soon, D-Rob!

Regardless of how he recuperates, I think we all know what David Robertson’s new favorite show is:
