Arizona Fall League Check-In: Oct 21

All three Yankees position players were in the game against the Mesa Solar Sox yesterday, batting back-to-back-to-back in the 5-6-7 spots. Third baseman Ronnier Mustelier was 2-4 on the day, raising his already stellar batting average to a hefty .389. As for Rob Segedin and Corban Joseph, who appeared to be heating up at the plate lately, well, they were a combined 0-6.

Preston Claiborne continues to rack up AFL innings, pitching a strong 7th yesterday. He allowed one walk, but held the Solar Sox hitless and scoreless. Claiborne is generally pretty efficient and yesterday he need just 13 pitches to get through his inning. Claiborne’s AFL ERA is now 1.50 through a total of 6.0 innings of relief.

The Desert Dogs will be back on the field this afternoon at 2:35 PM EST.
