Arizona Fall League Check-In: Oct 15

The Desert Dogs will never win again!

OK, that’s overdramatic, but that’s kind of what it feels like. They are now 3-8 on the season and they haven’t won a game since October 6th. On the bright side, the Yankees prospects are starting to settle in and shine.

Left fielder Rob Segedin was 3-4 with a run scored and an RBI yesterday, pushing his average up to a solid .324. Not too shabby considering he began the week with hovering around the .230 mark.

Chase Whitley pitched the 3rd and 4th innings for the Desert Dogs, allowing a solo home run and picking off a runner at 1st base. Preston Claiborne had a rough 9th inning, walking two batters and throwing 24 pitches before he was lifted in place of a reliever.

Overall the second week of the Arizona Fall League was pretty ugly for the Desert Dogs, but it looks like the Yankees prospects are starting to blossom. The Desert Dogs will be back in action tomorrow at 2:35 PM EST.
