A-Rod scratched with sore knee

Bryan Hoch reported that A-Rod was scratched about 30 minutes prior to first pitch of the regular-season finale with a sore right knee.

The knee and left thumb have been concerns throughout the season, so I guess it’s better to sit out of a meaningless game and rest for the postseason rather than to push it.

Or this could all be BS and he is pulling a Jorge after getting dropped to the fifth spot in the lineup. I kid, I kid.

Brandon Laird will start at third and the new lineup will be: 1. Jeet 2. Grandy 3. Tex 4. Cano 5. Swish Dog 6. Jones 7. Jesus 8. Nunez 9. Laird

Cashman on what the team can expect from A-Rod in the postseason:

I don’t know. Really, I don’t know…I don’t think he’s quite there yet.
