News during a no-rain rain delay

The Yanks are currently in a rain delay even though it is not raining. Now I have seen it all. I guess that’s how they do things in Chicago. Anywho, here’s some news from Yankeeland:

  • According to Cashman, it’s “possible” we see the rise of Jesus before the rosters expand on September 1. That same article says that the team was close to trading Cervelli to the Pirates for pitcher Brad Lincoln at the deadline, but the teams couldn’t agree on the value of the players.
  • The Yankees put AJ, So and Posada on trade waivers. Apparently this is not a big deal and the majority of the team goes on waivers, but it seems odd that they would single out those three in the article.
  • The Yanks will open the Marlins’ new stadium with a pair of exhibition games next April 1 and 2.

Topics: Aj Burnett, Jesus Montero, Jorge Posada, Rafael Soriano
