Derek Jeter turned 37 today, which makes me feel old as hell. I’m sure he wishes he played, but I’m just glad the team got a win this afternoon. The Yanks still in first place (.5 game) and they rang in an emotional Old Timers’ Day with a victory. I’ll take it.
To celebrate Jeter’s b-day, Michael Sokolove of the NY Times wrote this “touching” piece about the captain. It’s long and brutal, so read it at your own risk.
I can’t understand why the team didn’t give you clubhouse access, Mike. Christ, get a clue.
