Here are some links for today:
- Two Yankees that had sub-par seasons last year will get some help prior to Spring Training, as Kevin Long will work with Jeter and new pitching coach Larry Rothschild will work with AJ next month.
- According to Jon Heyman, the Yanks are interested in Andruw Jones as a right-handed hitting outfielder. I have to believe that they have the same interest in Jones as they did in Manny (not much) because he’s relatively old (34 in April) and his numbers have gone down since leaving the Bravos. As a bench player he might not be a bad choice though. If you remember, he absolutely murdered the Yanks in the ’96 World Series (although they got the last laugh) but then didn’t bother to show up for the ’99 rematch.
- Chad Jennings of LoHud takes us through the tentative Yankees Spring Training schedule.
The Hall of Fame inductees will be announced in about 20 minutes, so keep you fingers crossed for Hitman. Even though it will probably never happen a guy can dream.
