After catching the proverbial lightning in a bottle with his buddy Kerry Wood last season, the Yanks signed Mark Prior to a minor league deal.
The oft-injured righty, who last pitched in the bigs in 2006, will earn $750,000 if he makes it to New York with a ML-invite to spring training and has a chance to earn another $750,000 in incentives.
He may not be Cliff Lee, but it couldn’t hurt to take a low-risk shot on a guy that is desperate to get back to his once-promising potential. Especially with the uncertainty of the rotation.
I don’t know about you but I’m excited about the move.
