Yankee fans, I ask you, would you want the team to sign a pitcher who went 17-11 last season with a 3.75 ERA, seven complete games, two shutouts, 221 innings pitched, 227 hits, 37 walks, 117 Ks, 111 ERA+, 1.195 WHIP, 9.2 H/9, 1.0 HR/9, 1.5 BB/9, 4.8 K/9 and a 3.16 SO/BB ratio?
Identity of this mystery pitcher after the jump.
That’s right, those stats belong to none other than Mr. Carl Pavano. There’s the rub.
For the record, I don’t think the Yanks should touch this a-hole with a 10-foot pole. However, if his name wasn’t Carl Pavano I would want the team to be all over him. There’s no chance in hell, with good reason, that the Yanks bring in this clown for a second tour of duty in the Bronx…especially with how Javy’s return went. It’s interesting though to see how former busts have panned out.
