A fixture at Yankee Stadium for over 20 years, Freddy “Sez” Schuman passed away Sunday at the age of 82.
For those of you unfamiliar with Freddy, he would carry a sign with a message at nearly every game and tote a shamrock frying pan with a spoon for fans to ding. I had the privilege of banging his pan one time at a game, and he was very friendly and of course a great fan. You will be missed dearly Freddy, I hope the Yanks can honor you with another World Series championship this year.
He can also be seen briefly in the Nike “Boom” commercial (52-second mark):
I hope the Yanks do something to pay homage to him before Game 3 Monday night. It would be pretty classy.
LET’S GO YANKS!!!!
