Let’s go…Red Sox!?!??!?!?!?

As the Yanks relax on their first off day since August 5, a huge series with the Chicago White Sox looms.

During a stretch of 20 games in as many days, the Yanks went 11-9 and are 78-49 on the year. They sit tied atop the AL East with the Tampa Bay Rays, who are also off on Thursday. The Rays, though, play an even bigger series at home against the Red Cox this weekend. Boston, as you probably know, is 5 1/2 games back in the division

It’s going to be tough, but I think we’re going to have to root for the Sox this weekend. I know it’s blasphemy for Yanks fans to root for Boston, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Best-case scenario is the Yanks sweeping in ChiTown (obviously) and Beantown doing the same in Florida. God, I feel dirty for just typing that.

The free-falling ChiSox are 6-12 over their last 18 and, at 68-58, sit 3 1/2 games behind the Twins in the Central. Though both teams are in action on Thursday.
