Lineup plus other news

As Weather.com is predicting thunderstorms tonight, who knows if the Yanks will get this game in. Plus, it was raining there all morning. But if they do play here is the lineup. As you can see, Brett The Jet is out after feeling discomfort in his left thumb and will be replaced by Kevin Russo in left.

  1. Jeet SS
  2. Swish Dog RF
  3. Tex 1B
  4. A-Rod 3B
  5. Cano 2B
  6. Georgie DH
  7. Grandy CF
  8. Frankie Cervelli C
  9. Kevin Russo LF

If the game goes down, CC will take on Chris Tillman. Facing the O’s could be exactly what CC needs to get back on track, he owns them.

Some good news from yesterday, as Posada did some catching drills with Tony Pena (not in that way, pervert) prior to the Yanks win; JoPo also caught Pettitte’s bullpen session. Reports have surfaced that he could be back behind the dish as early as next week, but Girardi didn’t comment on that.

George A. King III says the Mariners are convinced the Yanks are interested in trading for Cliff Lee, who will be a free agent after the season. The problem for the Yanks is that the M’s want either Austin Romine or Jesus Montero (both are catchers) and shortstop Eduardo Nunez. In my opinion, that’s kind of a high price for a guy who will be a free agent. Much like Ken Griffey, Jr., the Yanks should sleep on it. King also reports that the Yanks might make a bid for Lance Berkman or Paul Konerko. On the other hand, Mark Feinsand calls bullshit on the Lee part of the story.

Interesting story about how Girardi turned down an offer to become the Orioles manager in 2007. The rest, as they say, is history.
