According to RAB, the Yankees have contacted Jim Edmonds about patrolling/platooning in left field.
My sentiments exactly
Edmonds, who last played in ‘08, might be a good fit in the Bronx (he wouldn’t cost much and could be a part-time contributor), but he’s as old as dirt. He’ll be 40 in July.
If the Yanks do lure him away from St. Louis, this Jimmy Edmonds isn't walking through that door
I have to believe this is a ploy to get hand in the Damon negotiations.

We ned to have Johnny Damaon signed for 4million plus 1mill for 190 hits, 1 mill for 25 hrs, and 1 mill for 100 runs, he will sign for that since they are reachable and the Yankees will greatly benefit for those numbers.
January 23rd, 2010 at 2:59 pmI agree the Yanks need Damon back. No question. But he’s only had 190+ hits twice in his career and never hit 25 HRs. So it’s not that reachable for a 36-year-old. 100 runs? He’d definitely get that, but no chance a Boras client signs for what you proposed. I hope they figure out a way to bring him back, but he wants too much money.
