Yanks keep rolling

Posted by: Andrew Corselli

The Yanks beat the Twins for the eighth time in as many games on Wednesday. CC was huge (literally and figuratively), Jeet was clutch as always and even A-Rod got in on the fun as the Yanks took Game 1 of the ALDS.

The one “weak” link was Tex, who went 0-for-4. I don’t blame him; it was his first postseason game in pinstripes, plus, the offense was rolling anyway. I think he has a big Game 2, though. He’s too good to pull an A-Rod.

Joba, who should have been in the bullpen all season, was great in relief (even though he faced just one batter). However, Mo, who usually turns in a playoff appearance you can set your watch to, almost $hit the bed. I guess it’s different when you come in with a 5-run lead as opposed to a save situation.

Another bright spot for the Bombers was Godzilla. Matsui has been huge time and time again. I doubt it will happen, but I hope the Yanks re-sign him. He and Damon are both in contract years so they both probably won’t be back, and I would rather have Matsui. (Another argument for another day, but I’ll always see Damon as the caveman that helped the Sox break the curse. F Him.)
