Phils in 5?

AUTHOR: | IN: Yankees | COMMENTS: None Yet

I remember the last time a player from an NL East World Series foe predicted victory in 5 games against the Yanks. It was Benny Agbayani in the 2000 World Series. That did not go over well for the Mets. Just saying is all.

Yanks even Fall Classic, 1-1

AUTHOR: | IN: Yankees | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Yanks beat the Phils 3-1 Thursday to tie the World Series up at one game apiece behind a great showing from AJ and timely hitting from Tex and Godzilla. Here are some random thoughts I had while watching Game 2: Molina’s pickoff of Werth in the fourth really changed the momentum of the series (or at lesat the game). It was also a pretty good throw; I know I’ve been ragging on him, but Molina really showed me something with that play. HUGE. Keep it up you fat bastard! AJ Burnett was on point: 7 innings, 1 R, 4 H, [...]

My worst nightmare has come true

AUTHOR: | IN: Yankees | COMMENTS: None Yet

NYY’s bats need to wake the fuck up. There’s nothing else to it. The pitching was on point enough to the point where the Yanks should have won that game. I hope it was just because of Cliff Lee, because it will be a very short series if the Yanks hit like that. Phuck Philly Lest we forget in 1996 they lost the first two games to the Bravos (by a combined 16-1 score) in the WS and we all know how that turned out. So don’t count the Yanks out just yet.

THE YANKEES ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!!!!!!

AUTHOR: | IN: Yankees | COMMENTS: None Yet

Thanks to some timely pitching from Andy (can I) Pettitte, and some errors from the Angels, the New York Yankees are going to the World Series for the 40th time in franchise history. The Bronx Bombers will take on the Philadelphia Phillies in a revenge matchup from the 1950 World Series. Some things that scare me: The Phillies remind me of the Yankees teams from the late 90s that always found ways to win. The Yanks can’t take them for granted. The Yanks had trouble with the Angels, how are they going to deal with Philly’s brutal lineup? Howard, Utley [...]

It’s official, no baseball tonight

AUTHOR: | IN: Yankees | COMMENTS: None Yet

Due to heavy rain in the forecast, Game 6 of the ALCS will take place on Sunday night at 8:20 p.m. That’s just great, first pitch is the same time as kickoff between Giants/Cards. Girardi has said that Pettitte will still get the nod for the Yanks, but the Angels will most likely (though not definitely) send Jered Weaver (instead of Joe Saunders) on full rest and have Lackey available for Game 7. Just a random thought here, why didn’t they try to get this game in during the afternoon? With heavy rain in the forecast through the night, why [...]

Wanted: two tickets to Game 6

AUTHOR: | IN: Yankees | COMMENTS: None Yet

They’re not for me, I swear. We need Mystique and Aura to be there to cheer on  and support the Yankees in Game 6. Weather permitting, the Yanks and Angels will resume the ALCS on Saturday night in the Bronx at the new Yankee Stadium. I’m confident NYY will take Game 6 but it wouldn’t shock me if the Angels pull off some BS miracle win. If the Yanks don’t hit like they are capable of, get a solid start from Pettitte, and play the way they’ve been all regular season then they’ll wind up pulling another…I’m not going there. [...]

Holy Shit

AUTHOR: | IN: Yankees | COMMENTS: None Yet

That game was a doozy, here’s a few things I need to address: I thought it was over with the six-run seventh. God damn, they let that one slip away. Story of AJ’s season: one bad inning ruins an otherwise quality outing. Motherfuck (Phil Hughes and) the bullpen. Brad Lidge looks like an upgrade at this point. Swisher: Please, I’m begging you, hit something. ANYTHING. Jesusmotherfuckingchrist, you haven’t done shit this entire postseason. Come on, there’s only so far that clubhouse-chemistry shit will get you. Please get a hit. 3-for-29 with one RBI in the playoffs is unacceptable. Put down [...]

An open letter to A-Rod:

AUTHOR: | IN: Yankees | COMMENTS: None Yet

Dear Mr. Rodriguez, I want to wholeheartedly apologize to you: I’m sorry for cursing your name under my breath every chance I got, I’m sorry for shouting obscenities at the TV every time you didn’t hit a home run and I’m sorry for only referring to you as ‘Purple Lips’. I’m sure it’s some sort of medical issue you have no control over. Your postseason play speaks for itself this year, and I don’t know where the Yanks would be without your services. So, again, I’m sorry. I knew not what I was talking about. I can’t apologize enough for [...]

Yanks take 3-1 lead

AUTHOR: | IN: Yankees | COMMENTS: None Yet

Behind CC’s lights-out performance and another A-Bomb, the Yanks moved to within one game of their first pennant since 2003 with a 10-1 shellacking of the Halos. CC, going on short rest, shut the Angels down over eight innings, giving up five hits and a run while fanning five. Goddam he’s good. I knew what the Yanks were getting with him,  but he has exceeded all my expectations. The only serious mistake he made Tuesday was the high fastball to Morales. CC shut the Angels down, I hope AJ follows suit on Thursday. Gaudin also looked good with the perfect ninth; he’s a serious [...]

That sucked

Goddam Howie Kendrick. I’m too angry to write anything. I just hope the Yanks bounce back tomorrow. CC, the team needs you. Please keep up your good work tomorrow.
